Michael J. Baumeister

Michael J. Baumeister is the chair of the board of Gartenbau-Versicherung VVaG.

Mr Baumeister is responsible for the sectors company development, questions of principles, marketing, finances and re-insurance. He was born in Fuerth in 1946 and gained a higher engineering degree ("Diplom-Ingenieur"); he also successfully completed vocational training as a gardener in a flower and ornamental plants nursery in Germany’s Niederrhein region. After gaining his higher education qualifications specialising in gardening he studied horticulture at the university of applied sciences in Osnabrueck. Following subsequent training as a journalist he worked as an editor for gardening journals. Mr Baumeister has been employed by Gartenbau-Versicherung since 1972. His work focussed initially on organisation and marketing, and he later became a director for the insurance operations. He was appointed to the board in 1983.
